Community Movable Mural Project Comes To Libertyville
Artists are invited to submit up to three full color designs for jury consideration.

From The Adler Center: The Movable Mural will be painted by the community during the Adler Center’s annual Festival of the Arts. A commissioned artist will first prepare a monochromatic coloring book style design. Then, throughout the two-day festival, children and adults of all ages are invited to paint a segment of the mural with vibrant colors. Paint for the Community Movable Mural will be supplied by Rust-Oleum.
“The Community Movable Mural Project will encourage creative expression and will present a very positive way to interact with your neighbors,” says Amy Williams, Adler Center Executive Director. “We hope everyone at the Festival of the Arts will take part in the project.”
This year’s inaugural theme is “Where Culture Connects,” and celebrates the Adler Center’s cultural history and its mission to connect the community to the arts. At the end of the Festival of the Arts, the mural will move to the Adler Center, where it will be prominently displayed until the next Festival of the Arts.

“The panels will be reused and repainted with new designs each summer,” says Williams. “We hope the community will look forward to creating a new mural each year, and that they will stop by to visit their mural throughout the year.”
Artists are invited to submit up to three full color designs for jury consideration. All applications must be received by May 27. Additional information for artists is available here.
