Crystal Lake Man Accused Of Soliciting Sexually Explicit Images From Girl

A Crystal Lake man was arrested for accusations he groomed and solicited a child in order to get her to send him sexually explicit images, court documents said.

Alexander S. Leiras, 32, of the 100 block of Pine Court Court in Crystal Lake, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon by the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Court records show Leiras was charged with child pornography, indecent solicitation of a child through the internet, grooming and exploitation.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Leiras possessed sexually explicit images of a female juvenile. He is also accused of sending the girl sexually explicit images of himself.

Court records said that the allegations occurred on May 8.

Leiras was also found in possession of marijuana and Adderall when police arrested him.

He is facing additional felony charges of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis.

A public defender was appointed for Leiras during a bail hearing on Thursday. A judge ordered the man held in jail on a $100,000 bond.

Leiras, who would need to post $10,000 cash in order to be released, remains held in the McHenry County Jail as of Saturday afternoon.

A bond hearing and to set the date of a preliminary hearing will take place on Monday.
