LAKE COUNTY, IL — A dense fog advisory is in effect for Lake County through 8 a.m. Monday.
Drivers should expect visibility of a quarter-mile or less, according to the National Weather Service. Visibility will be worse closer to Lake Michigan as a cool marine air spread inland from the lake.
Conditions should improve fairly quickly after sunrise.

The dense fog advisory is in effect for Lake, Northern Cook, Central Cook and Southern Cook counties. Weather officials say drivers should plan to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance between your car and the car ahead of you.
