Driver Asleep In Car Parked On Sidewalk Faces DUI Charge: Cops

Libertyville officers were able to wake the 23-year-old Round Lake Park woman. She was taken into custody Monday.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 23-year-old Round Lake Park woman faces a driving under the influence charge after officers found her asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle parked on the sidewalk in Libertyville this past week, police said.

Police were called to the gas station after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in the parking lot at the Shell for a long time. The vehicle then left and came to a stop on Butterfield Road, according to the Libertyville Police Department report.

Ultimately, officers found the vehicle on the sidewalk near the driveway entrance of the Shell Gas Station, 1207 W. Park Avenue in Libertyville, when they arrived at about 4:40 a.m., according to a police report.

Nugent was unresponsive, but officers were able to wake her up, police said. Following field sobriety tests, police took her into custody and later released her on a personal recognizance bond.

Nugent is next expected in court on May 21.
