Driver Found Puking Out Car Window Busted For DUI: Police
A look at recent arrests made in Libertyville, including drunken driving, trespassing and reports of drugs found in a car in town.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department responded to the following incidents in recent weeks:
Libertyville Police Department officers responded to Libertyville Toyota, 1180 S. Milwaukee Avenue, at 6:20 p.m. on March 18 for a report that a person who'd previously trespassed on the property had returned. Roy Craig, 51, of Round Lake, was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, according to a police report. He was cited for criminal trespass to real property and released on a personal recognizance bond. He is next expected in court Monday, March 29.
A man found by police puking out the window of his Chevrolet sedan has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers were called to the 100 block of East Route 176 at 10:40 a.m. on March 17 after receiving a report of a drunk person driving a blue Chevrolet sedan. When officers arrived, they found the driver and the vehicle and called paramedics to assist the man, who was vomiting out the driver's side window, according to the police report. The man, who was identified as Christopher Nichols, 31, of Beach Park declined treatment and was arrested on drunken driving charges. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on Monday, March, 29.

A Libertyville officer pulled over a red GMC for an improper turn violation in the area of Route 176 and Fourth Avenue at 9:42 p.m. on March 10. The officer decided to search the car after noticing the smell of marijuana while talking with the driver. A search turned up a bag with 12 grams of a substance that field tested positive for marijuana on a passenger in the vehicle and a plastic bag with a substance that field tested positive for cocaine. The passenger, who police identified as Johny Gaspar, 23, of Waukegan, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful transportation of marijuana by a passenger, according to a police report. He was cited and released on a personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on March 29.
