Drunk Man At Gym Kicks Cop During Arrest: Police

The 25-year-old Niles man now faces several charges following the incident at X-Sport Fitness in Libertyville earlier this month.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 25-year-old Niles man faces multiple felony charges after police said he got drunk and refused to leave a Libertyville gym when asked to do so by staff. William Jaimes, of the 8700 N. Wisner Street, was spotted by police driving away from X-Sport Fitness, 1163 S. Milwaukee Avenue, at about 5:20 p.m. and was pulled over a short time later, according to authorities.

A records check revealed Jaimes was driving on a license that had been suspended due to a prior DUI offense. Authorities also found three containers of alcohol in his car, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

Jaimes was taken to the Libertyville Police Department, where he became "combative" and kicked an officer in the leg, according to the police report.

Jaimes has been charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, illegal transportation of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

His bail was set at $30,000, and he is next expected in court on April 20.
