Expect Heavy Traffic Around Libertyville High During Football Season Opener

It's the Wildcats season opener Friday and traffic is expected to be heavy around the high school at game time.

If you are not heading out to the game Friday night, you may want to avoid the streets surrounding Libertyville High School.

The police department posted a traffic alert Thursday on its Facebook page to let residents know they should expect heavy traffic in and around Route 176 and Dawes during game time. Parking will be restricted in the surrounding neighborhoods--even for residents, according to the alert.

“Make sure you check the signs carefully so you don’t get a ticket,” according to the Libertyville Police Department Facebook page.
