'Forward-Thinking' Gym Owner Opens New Studio In Libertyville
"During unprecedented times, you have to think out of the box, take risks and maybe blur the line between genius and crazy."

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — After spending a year constantly shifting plans to keep her business up and running, Heather's Gym owner and master instructor Heather Fahrenkrog has managed to open a second fitness studio in town.
RMP Cycle & Boot Camp opened last week at 1745 Northwind Boulevard in Libertyville. Early on in the pandemic, when most of the state was shut down, Heather focused on moving forward. She'd visit her empty studio and offer her fitness classes online.
“The only thing that gave me, my team and our members any feeling of normalcy during that time was our daily workout - connecting, sweating and laughing together," Fahrenkrog said. "‘Un-muting’ everyone at the end of class was always bitter-sweet. These are the strongest people I have had ever had the honor to train and it was my mission to get them through the pandemic feeling strong, healthy and with a forward-looking positive mindset.”

In addition to online fitness classes, Fahrenkrog offered outdoor classes, virtual lunch and learn programs, virtual family challenges and she rented out equipment so members could get the most out of their home workouts. When she reopened, she offered personal exercise pods and invested in new technology and equipment, according to a news release.
"It was important to me that I demonstrated hope, trust and a forward-thinking mindset not just for my member community but for my daughters,” Fahrenkrog said. “During unprecedented times, you have to think out of the box, take risks and maybe blur the line between genius and crazy.”
