Free Garden Walk to be Held at Libertyville Homes

LIBERTYVILLE -- A free garden walk will be hosted by the Gardeners of Central Lake County on Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The self-guided walk will showcase six interesting and varied specialty residential gardens located in Libertyville, according to a new release.

Highlights of the gardens include interesting groupings of native perennials, wide assortment of trees and shrubs, lush containers, Japanese garden, vegetable gardens, shade gardens, and many more garden gems. Those who stop out can tour the gardens at your own leisure and start at any garden. The event will be held rain or shine.

A mini Native plant sale will also be held at one of the homes on the walk. Maps (addresses) and directions for the walk will be available at Cook Memorial Library , Libertyville; Fremont Library , Mundelein and Aspen Library , Vernon Hills early June as well as on the Gardeners of Central Lake County website at http://www.gardenersofcentrallakecounty.org.
