Historic Home Tour in Libertyville Held This Weekend

The home tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 10.

Libertyville’s rich architectural history will be on display this weekend during the 14th annual Historic Home Tour. The tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, according to a news release. This year's event will include five beautifully appointed Libertyville homes and three gardens, featuring architecture spanning from 1895 to 1984.

Ticketholders will enjoy firsthand a selection of Libertyville’s finest architecture including examples of Dutch colonial, Tudor, American colonial, and a 1980’s ranch, as well as the exquisite David Adler Estate. You’ll soon be distinguishing a gambrel roof from a gable roof, and noting details such as archways, spiral staircases and stonework in these historically significant homes.

Those attending can check out how homeowners have worked and re-worked floor plans and features of these properties to preserve historical aspects and modernize the spaces that they call home. The tour features homes with innovative design details and fun “extras." Attendees may even recognize a few homeowners who have served this local area as a jewelry designer, interpreter, construction firm owner and a celebrity hair stylist and local business owner.
