Lake County DOT Releases Plow Routes, Safety Tips
Snow is in the forecast and the Lake County Division of Transportation is ready to go.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — With snow in the forecast, the Lake County Department of Transportation released its winter maintenance plow route map, outlining where drivers should expect to see some heavy duty snow removal and management. They also are asking drivers to take a few steps for everybody's safety.
Officials will keep an eye on the weather and prepare the plows. This includes salting and plowing before, during and after the storm comes through. They'll be working 12-hour shifts.
They're asking residents to monitor Lake County PASSAGE for local road info and to have a look at traffic cameras to see the conditions of the road before traveling. Give yourself plenty of extra time when planning trips, as major delays will be common.
