LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department shared a helpful tip for those handing out candy for Halloween. The post on the police department's Facebook page urged residents to keep an eye out for children carrying blue candy buckets and pumpkins.

These buckets could signify the child has autism and is non-verbal, according to the Facebook post.

"They may be unable to say things like 'trick or treat' or 'Happy Halloween' before getting candy, so please be kind and be patient," according to the Facebook post.
