Man Dies Following Collision With Snow Plow
The 28-year-old Winthrop Harbor man died at a hospital three days after the March 15 collision in Zion.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 28-year-old Winthrop Harbor man has died from injuries sustained during a crash involving a snow plow last week.
Jacob Williams, a passenger in the SUV, was initially taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in critical condition following the collision at about 5:30 p.m. on March 15 in Zion. He died at the hospital three days later, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
The collision happened at Green Bay Road and 9th Street in Zion, according to authorities.

Preliminary autopsy results show Williams died because of blunt force trauma to the head due to the crash, according to the coroner's office.
The driver of the SUV and the driver of the snow plow, who is an employee of the Lake County Division of Transportation, were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
