Marsh Fire Burns Siding Off Townhomes; Closes Road

A marsh fire Wednesday on Rollins Road and Meadow Green Lane melted the siding off one townhouse, damaged a second and closed the roadway for an hour, the Daily Herald is reporting.

The Lake County fire also resulted in a broken water main when fire crews tapped a hydrant on Meadow Green Lane.

The Round Lake Public Works Department was working on the water main.

The fire in Lake County comes just about two weeks after a controlled burn in Crystal Lake went out of control and melted the siding off 11 houses in a nearby subdivision.
