The David Adler Music and Arts Center announces open registration for NEW Art Classes, individual music and art lessons. Register today for group art classes, and piano, voice, guitar, violin, viola, cello, African drumming and ukulele lessons. Students may register and begin private lessons at any time.

New Session of Group Art Classes A wide variety of art classes for children and adults are taught in picturesque studios surrounding David Adler historic home. Register now for group art classes beginning in early March. Beginners are always welcome and private art instruction is also available.

Youth Art: Art Explorers! (Ages 3-5) Learn basic art skills as you explore drawing, painting, collage and printmaking in this class for young artists. Get messy with acrylic paint, watercolors, pastels, mixed media and all sorts of fun techniques! Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:00 pm.

Youth Art: Mixed Media Mash Up! (Ages 6-9) Sometimes one art material is just not enough to express the biggest, boldest, most creative ideas! Explore a variety of painting, collage, and other mixed media techniques and learn how to combine your favorite methods to create original works of mixed-up art! Tuesdays, 6:00-7:15 pm.

Youth Art: Constructing with Clay (Ages 8 – 13) Hand building techniques using pinch, slab, and coil methods will be explored. Figurative fun will be the focus of this class and will give students opportunity to make creatures based on original stories and class conversations. Vibrant colors and interesting stains will be used for surface decoration and finishing flourishes. Previous clay experience is welcome, but not necessary. Saturdays, 10 - 12pm.

Youth Art: Illustration (Ages 9-14) Learn traditional illustration techniques using pencils, markers and paint! Explore the world of illustration as seen in your favorite comics, movies and cartoons and create your own unique original characters. Tuesdays, 6-7:15 pm.

Adult/Teen Art: Beginner Colored Pencil (Ages 14+) Learn to draw with the color pencil, focusing on Botanical subjects! Explore different color pencil drawing techniques, the basics of the pencil, layering, blending and adding details. Complete two renderings during the class. Thursdays, 6 - 8 pm.

Adult/Teen: Oil Painting—Without Solvents or Brushes! (Ages 14+) If you haven’t taken an oil painting class because you have a bad reaction to turpentine or other solvents, this class is for you. We will be using water mixable oils paint that look, act and dry like traditional oil paints, but clean up with water. We will begin with a simple landscape and branch out to other subjects to learn knife painting & oil techniques. Wednesdays, 6:00- 8:00 pm
