Do you enjoy singing in the shower or singing along with the popular tunes? Have you thought about joining a chorus or a choir? Now is the time to do it – online, at home!
The New Tradition Chorus, an a cappella chorus with members from the north and northwest suburbs and Chicago, is offering four free sessions on singing for fun beginning Monday, April 6 and ending April 26. The class is virtual, via Zoom, and requires a camera and microphone. No obligation - just for fun.
"If you have ever wished you could improve your singing or would like to join others who want to learn more, these sessions are for you," said Russ Hook, president of the chorus. "Whether you only sing in the shower or are already in a choir or group, this program is designed to help you produce the most beautiful sounds possible from your voice."

Dan Wessler, director of the Chorus, is teaching the "Learn to Sing!" course online; each session will last approximately an hour. The end product will be a video of a song sung in four-part harmony, individually recorded by the members of the class. The video will be shared with the chorus and available to your family and friends.
Wessler, in addition to being a director and an educator, also sings bass in After Hours, currently an International gold medalist quartet in the Barbershop Harmony Society.

"Give us four Monday evenings," Wessler said, "and we'll give you the skills you need to experience all the fun of solo or group singing."
"You don't need to be able to read music," Wessler said. "The focus will be on knowing how to sing richly, with resonance, and to produce ear-pleasing harmony. Join us and you will quickly be improving in the company of a great bunch of fellow singers."
Singers of all skill levels and experience are invited, and learning materials are free.
