LIBERTYVILLE, IL — St. Joseph Catholic Church's food pantry, at 112 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville, is now open five days a week as it's coming into its busiest time of year. According to a news release sent to Patch, the food pantry is now open on Sundays thanks to the St. Joseph Youth Ministry stepping up to help people in need. Because of trying times, especially with the current pandemic, St. Joseph’s food pantry has been getting extremely busy this past year serving hundreds of clients weekly, according to the news release.

The Youth Ministry, led by Brigid and Tom Dutton, said that when they asked the youth for their help, the response was "enormous" and the youth volunteer slots through December instantly filled up, according to the news release.

Stated in the news release, St. Joseph’s food pantry, is one of very few supermarket style food pantries in Lake County, and it aims to serve people who need food and due to circumstances, and cannot afford to pay for it.
