'Unresponsive' Driver Jailed After Car Found Idling In Road: Cops

Police also noted several instances of graffiti found in Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A man was arrested Thursday in Libertyville after he was found unresponsive in his car, which was parked in a roadway, according to police.

Victor Tapia, of Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested in the area of Butterfield Road and Pinetree Lane after a witness called police to report seeing a gray SUV stopped in the road.

In a news release, police said officers found Tapia, 35, had several signs of being under the influence. They also found the man was driving with a revoked license.

Tapia was arrested and taken to Libertyville Police Department, where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper parking on a roadway.

He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and will reappear in court on May 7

This week's police blotter also identified several instances of defacement throughout Libertyville. According to the police report, police found graffiti on several buildings and structures along the North Shore Bike Path between the 900 block of E Park Avenue and the 1100 block of W Park Avenue.

All the various graffiti locations appeared to be similar, authorities said.
