Update: Two Injured When Car Crashes into House in Libertyville

The occupants of the house were uninjured in the crash.

The occupants of a home in the 400 block of Ridgewood Drive were uninjured Wednesday when a car crashed into the home, Libertyville Police reported.

The driver of the car, an adult male, 26, and the front seat female passenger, 25 were transported to Advocate Condell Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female passenger’s 5-year-old daughter, who was sitting in a booster seat in the rear passenger area of the Acura, was transported to the Lake Forest Hospital for evaluation.

The accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. An officer who was patrolling Butterfield Road north of Ridgewood Lane heard an explosion south of his location followed by a cloud of dust.

All occupants of the vehicle are from Waukegan. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the 2007 Acura was traveling northbound Butterfield Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the home.

The accident is still under investigation. No charges/citations have yet been issued.
