GURNEE, IL — As the summer winds down, Six Flags Great America is looking ahead to next year with plans to unveil the world's tallest water coaster at its water park in Gurnee in 2020, officials announced Thursday. Tsunami Surge will stand at 86 feet tall and riders could reach speeds of 28 mph while careening down the slide.

The water coaster includes three "uphill blasts," five breath-taking drops and 950 feet of enclosed tunnels. The ride will also include open air slides and AquaLucent visual effects with bursts of color meant to intensify the ride experience.
