Youth Virtual Art Classes at the Adler Arts Center
Now enrolling for youth art classes: Comic Book Drawing, Fantasy Makeup, Dia de los Muertos and more!
The Adler Arts Center, Libertyville’s home for the arts, announces registration for a creative array of virtual youth art classes. The Adler Center offers short sessions designed for busy kids interested in trying something creative at home. Classes begin at the end of September/early October.
Youth Art Classes
The World of Marvel Comics (begins Sept. 22) Learn the history of the great American comic book writer, editor and artist, Stan Lee. We’ll take you through how he created Spiderman and the
Avengers movies, and teach you how to draw your favorite characters!
Fantasy Makeup (begins Oct. 1) Explore how to create exciting characters and spectacular illusions through the art of makeup. In this class you’ll learn stage and cinematic makeup techniques to turn yourself into a variety of fantastical creatures, spirits, animals, monsters and more! Using minimal makeup supplies, and a lot of creativity, participants will get the chance to create the looks of their wildest dreams!
Dia de los Muertos (begins Oct. 2) Are you ready to celebrate the Day of the Dead? Make colorful lanterns, piñatas, paper banners and skeletons as we explore Dia de los Muertos. In this class, receive step-by-step directions for making everything you’ll need for a colorful and festive family party!

Painting with the Great Master Artists (begins Oct. 13) This class will introduce the painting styles of colorful Master Artists! Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso and Monet will guide us in the wonderful world of play. Each week you will learn a different technique along with fun facts about each famous artist. Acrylic paints and pastels will be used.
Family Art Workshops
The Adler Arts Center is ready for a VERY special Halloween season. Seasonal family workshops include fantasy makeup and DÃa de los Muertos sessions the whole family will love.

Music Lessons
Registration is also open for individual music instruction in piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, guitar, ukulele, and saxophone. Join a vibrant community of musicians and performers. Find your perfect fit and schedule lessons that fit your schedule with daytime and evening options Monday through Thursday, and convenient Saturday hours. Choose virtual or in-person instruction.
