16 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox has remained steady over the past week. According to data from the hospital, on Monday, there were 16 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and there was one person under investigation awaiting test results.

Out of the 16 current patients, three are in the ICU, and no patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

On March 8, a week ago, the hospital had 18 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and one person under investigation awaiting test results.

The hospital saw its highest COVID-19 hospitalizations in November when it had 125 patients. By January, hospitalizations had fallen to 43 patients, hospital data shows.

Since March 2020, the hospital has discharged 2,072 COVID-19 patients, according to hospital data. As of Monday, the hospital has a 3.1 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is lower than the 3.3 percent positivity rate as of March 8.
