18 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox has slightly increased over the past week. According to data from the hospital, on Monday, there were 18 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and there was one person under investigation awaiting test results.
The hospital saw its highest COVID-19 hospitalizations in November when it had 125 patients. By January, numbers had fallen to 43 patients, hospital data shows.
Out of the 18 current patients, three are in the ICU, and two patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

Since March 2020, the hospital has discharged 2,052 COVID-19 patients, according to hospital data. As of Monday, the hospital has a 3.3 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is higher than the 2.5 percent positivity rate as of March 1.
