34 Hospitalized With COVID-19 At Silver Cross Hospital

Out of the 34 patients, six of the hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and two patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

NEW LENOX, IL — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Silver Cross has decreased over the past two weeks. According to data from the hospital, on Monday, there were 34 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and four persons under investigations awaiting test results.

Two weeks ago, on Jan. 18, there were 59 patients with COVID-19 hospitalized and three persons under investigation awaiting test results. The hospital has seen mostly decreasing hospitalizations after high hospitalizations in November, when Silver Cross had over 120 COVID-positive patients.

Out of the 34 patients, six of the currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in the ICU, and two patients with COVID-19 are on a ventilator.

The hospital has an 5.2 percent 7-day positivity rate for its COVID-19 testing, which is lower than the 7.3 percent positivity rate as of Jan. 18.
