Drug Possession, Car Burglary: New Lenox Police Reports

New Lenox police reports through Aug. 24.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest or charge is not an indication of guilt.

Aug. 17

  • Hakm Elabed, of Mokena, was charged with disorderly conduct at 1:42 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Elabed became irate when an employee confronted him about items in his cart that weren't paid for. Elabed began yelling and throwing items in her direction.

  • Someone entered an unlocked car in the 2800 block of Taylor Glen Drive. The person then opened the victim' s garage door using an opener that was inside the unlocked car. They went through the victim's garage and rummaged through a second car parked in the garage. Nothing appeared to be stolen from either car.

Aug. 19

  • Tomoure Adams, 45, of Aurora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 7:39 a.m. in the 600 block of Cedar Crossings Drive. According to the police report, someone called for a welfare check on a man who appeared to be in need of help. The officer found Adams, and learned his car had run out of gas. Adams was also in possession of methamphetamine.

  • Thany Haddon, 45, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft at 12:05 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Haddon stole $30 worth of produce items from the store.

Aug. 22

  • Ryan Duckmanton, 49, of Romeoville, was charged with retail theft at 11:02 a.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Duckmanton stole $200 worth of items from the store.

Aug. 23

  • Adrian Silva, 20, of Joliet, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis (over 30 grams) at 9:24 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and Gougar Road. According to the police report, the officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The officer then learned that Silva was in unlawful possession of 55 grams of cannabis.
