DUIs, Criminal Damage To Property: New Lenox Police Reports

New Lenox Police reports through Sept. 21.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest or charge is not an indication of guilt.

Sept. 14

  • Ruben Lopez, 50, of Joliet, was charged with driving while license suspended, DUI, operating an uninsured vehicle, and illegal transportation of open alcohol at 1:54 a.m. in the 600 block of West Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, the officer on patrol saw a vehicle on the side of the road with heavy front end damage. The officer approached the vehicle, and it began to slowly drive away. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer met with the driver, Lopez, and learned he had a suspended driver's license and was driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • Mallory Eisfeller, 32, of Manhattan, was charged with retail theft at 2:56 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Eisfeller stole over $170 worth of items from the store. She was no longer on scene, and was located at her home in Manhattan and taken into custody.

  • Samantha Landeroz, 28, of Manhattan, was charged with criminal damage to property at 5:03 p.m. in the 600 block of Sandpiper Drive. According to the police report, the officer learned Landeroz scratched two cars parked in the victim's driveway and destroyed several plants. Landeroz was also charged with criminal trespass to property later that day after she came back to the scene when she was asked not to return.
  • Jose Gonzalez-Herrera, 27, of Joliet, was charged with DUI-alcohol and no valid driver's license at 6:10 p.m. at Cedar Road and Francis. According to the police report, calls were received about an intoxicated driver in the area and a vehicle description was given. The officer located the car stopped in the street, and conducted a traffic stop. The officer learned Gonzalez-Herrera was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sept. 18

  • Jamie Simmert, 41, of Lockport, was charged with retail theft at 4:49 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Simmer stole $63 worth of merchandise from the store.
  • Antrone Dean, 18, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated battery at 8:33 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard. According to the police report, Dean had punched a security guard in the face.

  • Someone scratched a vehicle parked in the 200 block of West Manor Drive.
  • Rickeisha Sheard, 22, of Matteson, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Sheard stole $83 worth of merchandise from the store.

Sept. 20

  • A woman stole $68 worth of clothing from Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway.
