Dump Truck Overturns On I-80, Traffic Delayed: Cops

NEW LENOX, IL — Traffic is delayed on I-80 westbound after a dump truck overturned in the right side ditch, Illinois State Police said. The accident happened at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday on I-80 westbound, just west of US 30.

Police said the dump truck lost control for an unknown reason and overturned in the right ditch. The truck was the only vehicle involved, and the driver has refused medical attention.

The tow truck is still on scene cleaning everything up, police said. The right lane on I-80 is still blocked, but traffic is moving through on the left.

Police said it will be another hour until the right lane is back open.
