Musicals, murder, and comedy will all be featured in Curtain Call’s productions this fall.
Auditions for the classic comedy Arsenic and Old Lace will be held at the Theatre located at 11112 Front Street, Mokena on Sunday, September 15th starting at 6 p.m. and Monday, September 16th starting at 8 p.m. Auditions will consist of individual and group character readings from the script. An enormous singing plant will be highlighted in the September 26th – October 6th musical; Little Shop of Horrors. This fantastic musical tale features a flower shop on Skid Row about to fold when one of its employees grows a fascinating never seen before plant, that he names Audrey 2. Audrey 2 quickly becomes an overnight sensation, bringing Mushnik’s Flower Shop and its employees fame and fortune, but at quite a cost. This musical showcases the talents of Geoffrey Purvis of Homewood as Seymour Krelborn, Mandy Barry of Evergreen Park as Audrey, Ken Czechanski of Frankfort as Mr. Mushnik, Ben Radeke of New Lenox as the voice of Audrey 2, and Rick Zwart of Homer Glen as the diabolical dentist; Orin Scrivello, DDS. Seymour, Audrey, Mr Mushnik, and Orin are all supported by an ensemble that features amazing dancing and singing by Lara Heritage, Jaime McGuffage, Amanda Mascarello, Kyna Simpson, Niki Mutnansky, Savannah Riestenberg, Alicia Cuccia, Joe Kotze, Louis Baser, Mimi Pahis, and Natalie Bjorklund. Set in 1963, this enchanting musical will be a great kick-off to your Halloween season. To finish your spooky fall, Curtain Call’s Young Performers Program will be performing the musical, The Addams Family, on the weekend of November 1st – 3rd at Summit Junior High School in Frankfort.
