The left and center lanes of I-80 were closed for three hours on Thursday for crash investigation and clean-up, police said.
NEW LENOX, IL — A crash involving two semi-trucks and a pick-up truck caused road closures on westbound Interstate 80 on Thursday, according to Illinois State Police. The crash happened at 1:31 p.m. at milepost 140 near New Lenox, police said.
According to police, a semi-truck was traveling in the center lane and struck another semi-truck, which was stopped in traffic. A pick-up truck went in between the two semi-trucks and sideswiped one of them, and the impact caused both of the trailers to open, police said.
One of the semi-trucks was carrying shrimp and fish sticks, which spilled all over the road, police said.
