Forest Preserve's Nature Show 'The Buzz' Airs Wednesday
This month's episode focuses on prescribed burns, Arbor Day and Will County's eaglets.

April's episode of "The Buzz" nature show explains the prescribed burning process, showcases native trees for Arbor Day and gives a quick update on the eaglets that are living in two preserves.
Season 2, episode 4 will air at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, on the Forest Preserve District of Will County's Facebook and YouTube pages.
Even though it got hot during filming, "Buzz" host Suzy Lyttle, a Forest Preserve program coordinator, said shadowing the natural resource management team as they performed a prescribed burn was one of the "coolest" experiences she's had.

"They have laser focus on the task at hand and worked together so seamlessly," she said. "The elements are wild, working with heat, flames, smoke and ash, and yet it is so graceful. And now seeing the fresh new life growing after our burns just gives me a whole new appreciation of the process. Our crews work so hard for this new life to grow healthy and stronger than before."
Lyttle also highlights native trees for Arbor Day.

"They all have such personalities when you start looking closer," she said. 'At first glance you see all brown bark. But the more you study the details, the more you see curls, diamond-shaped ridges, and colors. I share information about some of our staple tree species so viewers can start identifying them on their own."
The episode's Buzz Bit pays a visit to two sets of bald eagle parents.
"Spoiler alert," Lyttle warned, "There are some pretty cute fluff balls that will make an appearance!"
After Wednesday's broadcast, a recording of the show will be available for viewing on the District's Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages. "The Buzz" also airs on cable stations in Joliet, Naperville, New Lenox, Romeoville and Tinley Park.
