NEW LENOX, IL — A Lincoln-Way Central senior has been selected to step into an elite, televised spotlight.
On Friday, September 30 in the Lincoln-Way Central Auditorium, senior Rebecca LiVigni was inducted to the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. Members of the United States Army and sponsor American Family Insurance welcomed LiVigni on stage as her parents and mentors surrounded her.
“I would like to thank my parents and my family for being here today to share with me this great honor and for always standing by my side over the last three years,” said LiVigni. “I would also like to thank all of my teachers. … Their support has been instrumental in my development and to the person I am today, and for that, I am so deeply grateful.”

“I could tell that when she was a freshman that she was going to be outstanding and that she was going to grow into quite the performer. She has a great attitude, a smile on her face all the time, and she works hard. …I’m very proud of her,” he said.
LiVigni credits her family, friends, instructors, and teachers with her success. As a transfer student from Lincoln-Way East, she now attends Lincoln-Way Central.
“It’s important for me to recognize that while Central is my new home and I absolutely love it here, all of the teachers, students, and staff at East made me who I am today. They always hold a special place in my heart, so thank you for an amazing three years.”
LiVigni will be showcasing her talent during the largest celebration of high school football in America, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, televised live on NBC at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
