NEW LENOX, IL — For over a year, education around the world has been changed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Whether its was online instruction, hybrid models or even relating academics to current events, the education of students everywhere has grown or changed in ways nobody saw coming.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission released its list of state high school scholars earlier this month. The ISAC has been announcing the scholars for over 60 years, and the recognition is given to the top 10 percent of high school seniors in the state of Illinois.

According to the ISAC, the honor is chosen based off of a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores, and sixth semester class rank. Some students at District 210's Lincoln-Way Central High School are among that top 10 percent.

"ISAC is pleased to recognize Illinois high school students who have been named 2021-22 State Scholars for their outstanding academic achievement," ISAC states on its website. "The 2021-22 designation applies to the year students will begin their postsecondary education."
