Lincoln-Way D210 Honors 'Read For A Lifetime' Participants
The program promotes the reading of classics and contemporary literature, and includes 25 books.
NEW LENOX, IL — Students and teachers at Lincoln-Way District 210 were recognized for participating in the "Read for a Lifetime" reading program from the Illinois Center for the Book, at Thursday's board of education meeting.
At Thursday's meeting, the Lincoln-Way D210 Board of Education recognized the hundreds of students and many teachers who participated in the program.
The program promotes the enjoyment of reading by encouraging students to read both classics and contemporary literature, according to the Secretary of State's website. 25 works are on the list.

"There are well over 100 students who have participated," Superintendent R. Scott Tingley said, adding that Lincoln-Way West had its first 100-book reader in student William Nash.
"It's good to get these students some recognition for their hard work over the four years," Tingley said. "These are students who have been ferocious readers from the time they entered school."

At Lincoln-Way Central, 36 students and eight teachers participated in the program, with 329 books read. Nine students were 4-year participants: Hannah Bogdan, Amanda Brunner, Ellen Cunningham, Georgia Dillenburg, Andrea Knepper, Olivia Nigro, Hannah Redican, Maggie Tinman and Anna Vanisko.
Five readers read all 25 books on the program's list this year: Jackson Lejuene, Maura McInerney, Sarah Pozdal, Darby Sullivan, and teacher Catherine Sieber.
At Lincoln-Way East, 159 students participated in the program, with 132 completing the program, and 1,152 total books read. According to the district, 36 seniors earned the 4-year award: Hannah Allen, Tiffany Barney, Katie Bromberek, Faith Buralli, Naomi Carl, Brooklyn Chojnacki,
Gracie Clifton, Samantha Davis, Nina Gentles, Jennah Halawa, Kayleigh Heffelmire, Candace Heitner, Alison Joyce, Krystyna Jozwik, Jillian Ketchen, Miranda Kosek, Ella Kuczero, Gregory Kwan, Isabella Lattz, Allison Lisota, Meghan McGlone, Caitlin McLaughlin, Lia Murphy, Alexandria Reaume, Isabelle Ruiz, Gordana Savic, Sydney Smithgall, Ritul Soni, Ashley Staszak, Dorothy Staton, Gabrielle Sterchele, Jessica Stoiber, Rebekah Stryjewski, Grace Vuckovich, Delani Wahr and Ashley White.
Those in the 100-title club are: Faith Buralli, Naomi Carl, Brooklyn Chojnacki, Kayleigh Heffelmire, Alison Joyce, Sydney Smithgall, Jessica Stoiber and Ashley White.
20 students and one staff member read all 25 books this year: Faith Buralli, Naomi Carl, Brooklyn Chojnacki, Kayleigh Heffelmire, Alison Joyce, Sydney Smithgall, Jessica Stoiber, Ashley White, Tioluwalase Adelakun, Maggie Brunell, America Navarrete, Adekemi Omoniyi, Lily Stankevicius, Paulina Gutierrez, Anila Moparthi, Lauren Vander Kooi, Sierra Chojnacki, Nicholas Smithgall, Ellianah Wahr, Aiden White, and Carol McCorkle.
At Lincoln-Way West, there were 100 participants in the program, with 716 books read. West set a record for the school with 19 4-year readers, according to the district.
William Nash was the school's first 100-title reader. 4-year readers included Nash, Alexandra Baranski, Kara Carr, Maura Fennessy, Lluvia Garcia Alcantara, Shawna Gordon, Madeleine Grude, D'jaliana Herring, Madeleine Knight, Nicholas Kostik, Angelina Nagy, Adam Naser, Maya Navarre, Shannon O'Brien, Robert Ryan, Kathryn Schedin, Chloe Schliffka, Molly Schultz, Rylee Tomasik and Mackenzie White.
According to the district, 25-book readers were Sophia Bach, Ariana Borda, Lluvia Garcia Alcantara, D'jaliana Herring, Hailey Legrand, Katie Nash, William Nash, Samantha Olson and Arwen Salazar.
