Lincoln-Way Marching Band Tops Class at ISU Invitational
The competition was held in Normal, Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Lincoln-Way Marching band recently dominated its competition at the Illinois State University Invitational Oct. 22.
The competition began at 7 a.m. Lincoln-Way performed their competitive show, “ReNew” at 6:12 p.m. "ReNew" is based on the transition from the Dark Ages to the Renaissance.
Lincoln-Way Marching Band earned first place in Class 6A for their performance. They were up against 10 total competitors including: Fremd, Waubonsie Valley, Lockport Township, William Howard Taft, Oak Park/River Forest, Downers Grove South, Lake Park, Naperville Central, Lincoln-Way, and Huntley.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the performance the students gave on Saturday,” says Co-Band Director, Justin Barnish. “It’s a testament to their hard work and dedication. We’re looking forward to a great rest of the season!”
After earning first place, the LWMB competed among the winners of each class in the Finals, placing third overall.

“These amazing kids did it together as one band, one sound, one community,” says Sponsorship Director Kim Hansen. “Bringing us parents, kids and directors together is proof of how strong our Lincoln-Way Community really is.”
