Lincoln-Way Score Round-Up: Basketball, Swimming, Badminton

A round-up of scores of Lincoln-Way sports teams over the past week.

NEW LENOX, IL — High school sports have been hugely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Now that restrictions are loosening across the state, various sports have started to practice and compete again.

Here is a round-up of Lincoln-Way area scores:

Badminton

Lincoln-Way West High School girls varsity badminton beat Bolingbrook High School, 10-5.

Emma So and Rachel Mitchell won at second doubles and Alyssa Barta, Megan Cook, Emma So, Morgan Antis and Amanda Gerl all won their singles matches.

Lincoln-Way Central won against Homewood-Flossmoor in a conference contest, 9-6.

The team is 3-2.


Basketball

Lincoln-Way Central Girls Basketball won against Kankakee in a non-conference contest, 49-36.

Haley Stoklosa scored 21 points, Megan Hutchinson scored 9 points, and Colleen Erdman scored 9 points.

Lincoln-Way Central girls basketball won against Andrew High School in a conference contest, 63-15.

Kaitlyn Veugeler scored 11 points, and Haley Stoklosa scored 9 points in Thursday's game. The team is 5-2.

Lincoln-Way West girls varsity basketball beat Homewood-Flossmoor, 55-52 on Thursday.

Ava Gugliuzza led the warriors in scoring with 15 points. Evan Pittman scored 14 points and Tara Gugliuzza 13 points.


Bowling

Lincoln-Way West High School Girls Varsity Bowling beat Lincoln-Way East High School 1711-1612 on Feb. 16.

Lincoln-Way West bounced back from their loss against Lincoln-Way Central with a win against Lincoln-Way East. Abbey Manprisio and Lexi Picicco led West with a 401 and 392 respectively.


Swimming

Lincoln-Way Central boys swimming won against Stagg in a contest on Thursday.

Joe Bozzi earned a new school record in the 100 freestyle, also a pool record for the Stagg High School pool.

Lincoln-Way West High School boys varsity swimming lost to Lincoln-Way East High School, 77-108.
