Lincoln-Way Score Round-Up: Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling

NEW LENOX, IL — High school sports have been hugely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. With the end of the school year quickly approaching, most sports teams are nearing the end of their seasons.

Teams still competing include tennis, wrestling, soccer, water polo, softball, baseball, lacrosse and volleyball.

Lincoln-Way Central baseball won against Lincoln-Way West, 8-1

Caden Leonard throws all seven innings giving up only 4 hits. He walked one and struck out six. Outstanding infield defense by Mike Maloney and Turner Doran. Ryan Kraft and Colin Mowry hit back to back home runs.

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball beat Kankakee High School, 6-1

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball beat Stagg, 18-5

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball beat Herscher High School, 7-2

Lacrosse

Lincoln-Way Central girls lacrosse won against Naperville North, 19-9

Lincoln-Way Central girls lacrosse won against Lockport, 22-12

Lincoln-Way West High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse beat Wheaton North High School, 16-3

Junior Aidan Roessler put away 4 goals. Ethan Sieb, David Ho, and Quinn Cosgrove each put up a hat trick. Ethan Sieb also had 5 assists. Cole Goesel went 12/18 on face offs while picking up 7 ground balls.

Lincoln-Way West High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse beat Homewood-Flossmoor High School, 17-3

Ethan Sieb scored 5 goals. Jack Senese made 10 saves while Nick Fittanto had 4 caused turnovers.

Soccer

Lincoln-Way West High School Girls Varsity Soccer beat Stagg, 4-0

Lincoln-Way West varsity girls soccer beat Andrew in the eighth round of penalty kicks to secure the conference win.

Lincoln-Way Central girls soccer won against Bradley Bourbonnais, 5-0

Goals: Grace Grundhofer (2), Megan Hutchinson, Shelby Slomski, Maddie Camaioni. Assists: Grace Grundhofer, Sydney Slomski (2), Jenni Andjelic, Megan Hutchinson. Jenny Farr earned the shutout in goal.
