Lincoln-Way Score Round-Up: Tennis, Soccer, Softball, Baseball

NEW LENOX, IL — High school sports have been hugely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Now that restrictions have loosened across the state, sports have started to practice and compete again.

This week, sports teams have continued their spring seasons, including soccer, tennis, water polo, softball, baseball, football and volleyball.

Here is a round-up of Lincoln-Way area scores:

Baseball

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball falls to Lockport, 12-2

Lincoln-Way Central won against Brother Rice, 12-2

Ryan Kraft Along with Mike and Matt Maloney accounted for 7 of the team's 12 hits: 4 doubles, a triple, six RBIs and four walks. Kraft also got the win on the mound. Liam Rossi also had two RBIs.

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball falls to Joliet West, 11-0

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Baseball beat Joliet Central, 11-5

Football

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Football beat Bradley-Bourbonnais High School, 24-23

Soccer

Lincoln-Way Central girls soccer won against Marist, 4-1

Goals: Megan Hutchinson, 2, Grace Grundhofer, 1, Megan Gerasch, 1. Assists: Lizzy Chanpaibool, Grace Grundhofer, Sydney Slomski, Megan Hutchinson.

Lincoln-Way Central girls soccer won against Wheaton Academy, 2-1

Megan Hutchinson scored both goals and was assisted by Grace Grundhofer and Madisyn Kenworthy.

Softball

Lincoln-Way Central girls softball won against Huntley, 7-1

Lyndsey Grein: 7 innings pitched, 1 run, 12 strikeouts; Jamie Widule: 2 run home run; Kathryn Ponton: 3 run home run

Lincoln-Way Central girls softball won against Plainfield Central, 14-4

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Softball beat Plainfield East High School, 1-0

Lincoln-Way Central girls softball won against Minooka, 11-1

Lyndsey Grein had 5 innings pitched and 7 strike-outs. Bella Wilkerson hit a 2-run home run.

Lincoln-Way West High School Varsity Softball beat Romeoville High School, 8-5

Tennis

Lincoln-Way Central Boys Tennis won against Oak Lawn, 5-0

Bella Been had 5 kills and 9 digs; Paige Ciesla led the team in 4 block assists and 3 solo blocks.

Lincoln-Way Central Boys Volleyball won against Joliet West; 25-18, 20-25, 25-18

Kyle Syzmanski had 22 digs, Jared Garcia had 17 assists, Evan Pagliaro had 2 aces, 9 digs, Michael Greco had 10 kills, 3 blocks, 2 aces.

Lincoln-Way West High School Boys Varsity Volleyball beat Joliet West High School, 2-0

Brian Lynch led the team with 5 kills, Conner Dargan and Ryan McDonald with 3 kills a piece, 3 aces by Caden Carrasco, 2 aces from Andrew Tomaszewski and Ricky Castillo, and 3 block kills by Connor Studer.

Lea Moeller had five goals, Sydney McGann had two goals, Emma Stiglic had two goals, Abby Karpluk had one goal, Amelia Dellamano had one goal, and Madalyn Witt had one goal. Amelia Dellamano had six saves and Madalyn Witt had four saves.

Danny Adamson had seven goals, Cale Koester had six goals.
