LW West Community Mourns Death of Senior

Adam Hippleheuser died just days before his scheduled graduation.

NEW LENOX, IL — Students at Lincoln-Way West are grieving the loss of a senior classmate, just days before graduation.

Adam Hippleheuser, of New Lenox, died Monday, May 30, reportedly of pneumonia, according to friends.

"Adam was very interested in music and could be found at all types of school events supporting his fellow classmates," one of his teachers told Patch.

Adam planned on attending college in the fall. His interests were in psychology and sociology, and he intended to pursue a career in counseling.

"Adam was well-liked by everyone and had a diverse group of friends," his teacher said.

The graduating class will pay tribute to Adam during a moment of silence, and his spot left open during the June 2 ceremony. Students are also encouraged to write letters of remembrance to his parents.
