Manhattan Man Charged in Gun Shop Break-in

The man fled from the scene, and lied about who he was, police said.

MANHATTAN, IL — A 22-year-old Manhattan man has been charged with felony burglary for his involvement in a break-in at a Manhattan gun shop Monday morning, police said.

Ricardo M. Barrios-Reyes, of the 200 block of Second Street in Manhattan, was arrested following a foot chase from the building at 155 W. North St. Barrios-Reyes allegedly broke in to the building, triggering the alarm system and alerting police. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.

Three businesses are located at the address. Barrios-Reyes is said to have entered all three. He did not steal any weapons from the gun shop, which uses a safe to keep the weapons secure in case of unlawful entry.
