New Lenox Announces Summer 2021 Events

NEW LENOX, IL — Summer is quickly approaching, and now that coronavirus case numbers have decreased across the state, many towns are announcing their plans for summer events.

In New Lenox, the Village holds events all summer long at the Commons. This year, events will include movie nights, concerts, an Independence Day celebration, Chalk Walk, car shows and plenty more.

More event details will be announced, but you can find the schedule of Commons events below:

June

June 2 - Movie night, "Up," at 8:30 p.m.

June 6 - Live on the Lawn, New Lenox Community Band, at 6 p.m.

June 9 - Movie night, "Beauty and the Beast," at 8:30 p.m.

June 15 - Cruise the Commons, with music by Worth the Risk, at 5 p.m.

June 16 - Movie night, "Abominable," at 8:30 p.m.

June 19 - Play Day in the Commons at 11 a.m.

June 23 - Movie night, "Black Panther," at 8:30 p.m.

June 26 - Triple Play, BoDeans & Soul Asylum, at 5:30 p.m. Ticketed event.

June 30 - Movie night, "Toy Story 4," at 8:30 p.m.

July

July 4 - Independence Day celebration, live music and fireworks, at 6 p.m.

July 7 - Movie night, "Trolls World Tour," at 8:30 p.m.

July 11 - Live on the Lawn, New Lenox Community Band and Cloggin' Craze, at 6 p.m.

July 14 - Movie night, "Moana," at 8:30 p.m.

July 16 - Fridays After Five, food trucks and music by Not Dead Yet, at 5:30 p.m.

July 20 - Cruise the Commons, music by CK & The Gray, at 5 p.m.

July 21 - Movie night, "Ghostbusters," at 8:30 p.m.

July 23 - Triple Play, ZZ Top, at 5:30 p.m. Ticketed event.

July 28 - Movie night, "Frozen II," at 8:30 p.m.

July 31 - Chalk Walk, at 9 a.m.

August

Aug. 3 - National Night Out, activities from New Lenox Police Department, at 6 p.m.

Aug. 4 - Movie night, "Cars," at 8:30 p.m. and New Lenox Community Band concert before the movie

Aug. 7 - Triple Play, Billy Idol, at 5:30 p.m. Ticketed event.

Aug. 11 - Movie night, "Tom & Jerry," at 8:30 p.m.

Aug. 13 - Fridays After Five, music by The Walk Ins, at 5:30 p.m.

Aug. 17 - Cruise the Commons, with music by Hard Vinyl, at 5 p.m.

Aug. 20 - Ladies Night Out, shopping and music by River Road Trio, at 4 p.m.

September

Sept. 3 - Fridays After Five, music by Midlife Crisis, at 5:30 p.m.

Sept. 18 - Water Lantern Festival at 4 p.m., ticketed event

Sept. 21 - Cruise the Commons, with music by Wavelength, at 5 p.m.
