New Lenox Fire Protection District Accepting Cadet Applications

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) is currently accepting applications for the position of fire cadet. Applicants should be between the ages of 16 to 21 years old and reside in New Lenox Fire Protection District boundary.

Applications will be accepted from August 29 through September 16. Any interested person may pick up an application from the NLFPD Administration Office located at 261 E. Maple Street in New Lenox, between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or email Lt. Rettke at lucas.rettke@nlfire.com. Applications must be returned to the Administration Office by 4 pm on Friday, September, 16. Interviews will be scheduled after applications have been turned in.

The cadet program's mission is to recruit and educate area youth in the general operations of the fire service. The Program will provide a safe learning environment for area youth to experience and learn about a variety of the fire service tasks. Cadets will learn in a classroom setting as well as in a practical setting.
