New Lenox Girl Scouts Graduate

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the Commons on May 23 for a final Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony for 25 Graduating New Lenox Girl Scouts. Many have been involved with scouts since Kindergarten. Service Unit Manager Gabrielle Kosche lead the ceremony expressing her gratitude that after a year and a half of lock downs and separation she was able to honor these dedicated scouts properly. Kosche emphasized "Our Ambassadors act as the symbol, the goal, of what we hope all of our New Lenox Girl Scouts will achieve at the end of their journey." Girl Scouts and their families celebrated the culmination of years of achievement and dedication, but also a bond of friendship that has grown between the girls over many years. It was a special Bridging ceremony this year as the troops honored their "Forever Girl Scout", Karly Little by wearing blue remembrance ribbons. Karly would've graduated with them this year. Several of the Girls were presented the Karly Little Scholarship Award during the ceremony from Karly's mom, Karen. A video of all the graduating scouts through the years was also given to the families. It included each girl as they grew up in scouts along with their future plans for college, etc. All of these girls made an impact on the community over the years and continue to be role models for younger scouts. Congratulations to all the leaders and girls on this impressive achievement!

Troop 359: Megan Cook (not pictured), Amelia Dellamano, Lea Moeller (not pictured), Alyssa Stasiak, and Jordan Zdych; Troop 482: Nora Barkoozis, Em Farmer, Amanda Lask, & Claire Westbrook.
