New Lenox Honors NLYFA Cheerleading Squad
The eighth grade team placed in the top six teams overall at the IRCA state competition.
NEW LENOX, IL — At its Dec. 9 meeting, Mayor Tim Baldermann read a proclamation honoring the New Lenox Youth Football Association eighth grade Elite cheerleaders for their performance in 2019 and at the cheerleading state competition.
This was the first year the NLYFA cheerleading squad competed in competitions organized by the Illinois Recreation Cheerleading Association.
The squad received a bid to the state competition which was held Dec. 6-8 in Hoffman Estates. Baldermann said the team placed in the top six teams overall at the competition.

Baldermann said the squad had "an amazing, yet challenging 2019 season."
