New Lenox School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in New Lenox is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The New Lenox School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/14 - 8/16: New Teacher Meeting
• 8/17: Teacher Institute
• 8/18: Teacher Institute, Parent Walk-Thru (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)
• 8/21: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/15: Half Day for Students (Teacher Inservice)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/31: Half Day for Students (Teacher Inservice)

November

• 11/17: Half Day for Students (Teacher Inservice)
• 11/20 - 11/21: No School for Students (PT Conference)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/22 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break Begins)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break Begins)
• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (M.L. King Day)

February

• 2/5: No School for Students (Teacher Institute)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/20: No School for Students (Teacher Institute)
• 3/26 - 4/2: No School (Spring Break)
