New Lenox Woman Dies after Stabbed by Domestic Partner: Police

Prior to the stabbing, Amanda Kern was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with Emmaline Osborne at their home in Springfield.

A 22-year-old New Lenox woman died Tuesday after being stabbed multiple times by her domestic partner in a home they shared in Springfield, Illinois.

Amanda Kern was transported to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds, following an alleged domestic dispute with her partner Emmaline Osborne, 24, as reported by WAND17 broadcast news. Kern was pronounced dead at 8:19 a.m.

Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards found preliminary cause of death to be multiple stab wounds consistent with a homicide. Some test results are still pending.

Osborne faces preliminary charges of first-degree murder, aggravated domestic battery and unlawful use of a weapon.

The Springfield Police Department continues to investigate.
