NL Gas Prices Continue to Spark the Ire of Mayor Baldermann

In the Lincoln-Way communities, gas prices are lowest in New Lenox, according to prices posted at 10 p.m. Sept. 23 on GasBuddy.com.

Despite a 25 cent drop in gas prices over the weekend, Mayor Tim Baldermann is still angry at the cost of gasoline in the community.

On Monday, GasBuddy.com listed prices at all stations in New Lenox at $3.49.

At the regular New Lenox Village Board Meeting Sept. 23 he made a point to express his dissatisfaction with the price per gallon charged at stations in New Lenox. In general, gas prices in New Lenox are normally higher by several cents or more than Mokena or Frankfort, and typically higher than Homer Glen and Lockport.

Speaking to the community by way of New Lenox's Channel 6 video recording of the meeting, he told residents the only way to bring prices down is to boycott the stations in New Lenox altogether. He suggested that motorists in the community refrain from shopping for anything at the service stations, including food, soft drinks, coffee and more.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, GasBuddy.com listed gas prices in Mokena at between $3.55-$359 and $3.55 per gallon at all stations in Frankfort.
