No Injuries in Early Morning House Fire

Significant damage to the home caused by fire Wednesday. Cause is currently under investigation.

MOKENA, IL — All residents and pets escaped unharmed during a house fire early Wednesday morning.

The New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for a structure fire at 2:16 a.m. in the 13000 block of W. 184th Place in Mokena.

The fire at the two-story house was fully involved when the first company arrived on the scene, and was immediately upgraded to a full still structure fire.

The NLFPD received assistance during the structure fire from several other area fire districts, including: Manhattan, Frankfort, Mokena, Homer, Lockport, Northwest Homer, East Joliet and Kurtz. Other area fire departments also covered New Lenox during this time for any additional emergency calls.

There is significant damage to the home, total cost of damage in not yet available. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
