Mayor Tim Baldermann also gave an update on Pete's Fresh Market, which won't open until 2021 in New Lenox.
NEW LENOX, IL — At the Village Board meeting on Monday, Mayor Tim Baldermann gave an update on two often asked about business properties. A resident at the meeting asked the board and Baldermann about any updates for the old Kmart property, as well as the Pete's Fresh Market property.
The old Kmart location closed in 2016.
Baldermann said the village is now dealing with a "pretty aggressive broker" at the Kmart property.

"There's been a lot of interest," Baldermann said. "Unfortunately, most of what we've seen have been truck stops and truck terminals, and the board's been pretty clear on what they do and do not want to see."
As for Pete's Fresh Market, which has been in the works in New Lenox for a few years now, the business will now open in fall 2021.
