Online Tip Leads To Child Porn Charges For New Lenox Man: Sheriff
Ian Knutsen was taken into custody Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday, police said.

NEW LENOX, IL — A 19-year-old from New Lenox has been charged with two counts of child pornography, the Will County Sheriff's Office said. Ian Knutsen was taken into custody Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday, police said.
According to the sheriff's office, the child pornography charges stem from an investigation that began early last year after detectives received an online tip from the Attorney General’s Office, namely the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
The tip generated several images of child pornography that were downloaded and shared via social media platforms, the sheriff's office said.

Through investigation, Knutsen was identified as the offender, and detectives brought him in for an interview in January, the sheriff's office said. Knutsen was cooperative and made several statements implicating himself, and he also provided detectives with his laptop, gaming system, and cell phone, according to police. The electronics were forensically examined and further evidence was found, police said.
Knutsen is being held at the Adult Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond. He will appear in court on Wednesday.
