Oyster Fest Returns to Tribes in Mokena
Oyster fans, get ready. The festival is set for Feb. 12–14.

Tribes Alehouse & Beer Company, (with a brewery coming soon!), is excited to host its 6th Annual Oyster Fest at its Mokena location.
Owner Niall Freyne was born in Galway, Ireland, home of the world’s oldest oyster fest: the Galway Oyster & Seafood Festival , and he has brought this proud tradition to Chicagoland.
Fresh oysters are flown in from the east and west coasts each day to ensure that only the freshest coldwater oysters are served. Freyne chooses between six to 10 different varieties to satisfy all oyster-loving taste buds. Throughout the event, a raw bar is set up at the front of the restaurant and guests can choose their oysters (approximately $3 a piece depending on the variety) and have their order zip-lined to be shucked on the spot by the Tribes crew. Homemade mingnonette sauce (a traditional, spicy sauce made with shallots and vinegar) will be served with every order.

For those interested in a larger oyster celebration, 3-tiered trays of assorted oysters will be available. In addition to oysters, raw clams, stone crab and gigantic shrimp will also be available. Seafood chowder, baked oyster bruschetta and drunken black mussels will also be added to the regular Tribes menu, making this a spectacular seafood event!
The featured brewery for the month of February is Boulevard Brewing and guests can grab a Boulevard brew for just $4 all month long.
